so what do you do, exactly?

1. There is just too much stuff out there. Finding the right products is expensive, overwhelming, and time consuming. There is an ocean of choice and so many different variations of the same things. And chances are your friend, sister, or content creator of choice doesn’t have the same skin as you. So, we’re creating a new way to cut through the clutter, the advertising, and the hype, to seriously narrow down the choice and help you find what will work for you.

2. Creating new habits is (really) hard… but with a bit of support, it’s just as easy to fall into good habits as bad ones. The reality is that to get the results you want, chances are you’ll need to change some of your habits. That might be as small as swapping out part of how you wash your face, or more complex, like adding additional products. Whatever it takes, we help navigate that process and get the outcome you want.

3. You often don’t get it right the first time. Maybe you don’t like the texture or the smell. Perhaps it doesn’t work well with your schedule. The good news, is that with all the options on the market now, the right product IS out there. Talking about how a product is and isn’t working for you with an expert can help you find exactly the right fit, and we think this is an important part of getting the outcomes you want.  So, we believe in an ongoing conversation. 

We also believe that the way we solve these challenges matters, and that it should feel easy, thoughtful, and consistent.

what are you doing about it?

We design bespoke skincare routines with off-the-shelf products for people who want to look great but just can't deal with the overwhelming volume of options and the complexities of the skincare industry (because of time, interest, or lack of knowledge).

We have built (and are continuing to train) a product recommendation engine which analyzes the information provided by each customer and then designs a skincare routine made up of over the counter products which suit their needs and budget.

who is “we”?

Delegate was founded by two friends from Australia who independently found themselves in the United States and had long wanted to do something together. One is very passionate about skincare and often gets stopped in the street - and even Sephora - for skincare recommendations (seriously). The other is… let’s just say less passionate about skincare, but extremely passionate about helping people cut through the clutter and using tech to actually make useful recommendations, change habits, get serious results, and save time and money. Because AI can do so much more than generate videos of Wes Anderson interpretations of Star Wars.

you mention ai a few times. how is ai involved?

We use AI to analyze the selfies you send us to be able to measure your skin across a range of variables to help with identification of certain attributes. We also use it to identify the best products on the market given your preferences (budget, texture, etc.) and the active ingredients necessary to get the results you need.

AI does a better job than humans on both these things.

Our estheticians look at the measurements taken by AI and the products it has identified and then use their extensive knowledge to refine these when they work with you. It supercharges their ability to help you get the best possible results, without having to constantly have an encyclopedic knowledge of all the products on the market or missing anything in your photos. We think of it like giving a surgeon access to the best equipment available, or a race car driver being backed by the hottest engineering team on the market.

Call us old school (we’re using the right skincare, we don’t care), but we’re big believers in transparency and trust. So we want to be clear with you about how this works, how we make money—and how we don’t.

2. Technology Licensing: Our recommendation engine improves daily and helps third-party brands and retailers enhance their product offerings and search results.
